Joel Biske Illustration and Design
I’ve been doing artwork as long as I can remember.
I used to copy drawings of cars when I was supposed to be paying attention in school.
Seeing Star Wars changed my life. Not only was I blown away by the visuals in front of me, but my obsession with the movie caused my mom to bring home a Star Wars comic book. This led to more and more comics and the idea that I could do this!
Next came art school in Chicago, and a job at FASA, a game company doing fantasy and sci-fi illustration.
A move to Florida and a job with Walt Disney Feature Animation brought new challenges and skills as I learned to make my drawings move.
Along the way, I learned graphic design, first at FASA doing book covers, page layout, and magazine ads, and later package design at a small camera company here in Florida. I've also done graphics for t-shirts and large format graphics for television news sets.
Now I work in themed entertainment design.
